MINI Family Portrait
FUNDRAISER
Fundraisers are tough...
It can be hard to create a successful fundraiser event for your School-Home Association. Finding school fundraising ideas that appeal to a wide range of your school families AND offers them a fun and valuable experience in exchange for there donation often takes a whole team of volunteers hours of prep and actually costs your organization money - when what you're trying to do is raise it!
But Mini Family Portrait fundraisers are easy!
A Mini Family Portrait fundraiser is the solution to your fund-raising event planning conundrums. Whether you’re planning a fundraiser for a small school or a large one, or want to raise money for a middle school or an elementary school, this fundraising event works in many different settings. With simple planning tools and just 1-2 parent volunteers, this event can raise meaningful funds for your organization and costs nothing to host.

Here's How A POrtrait FUndraiser works:
When you schedule to host a Mini Family Portrait PTA fundraiser, Katie will provide a worksheet to walk you through planning, booking and hosting the event. Your organisation's event volunteers will only need to publicize the dates and provide a simple sign up link to schedule sessions. You can receive the session fee donations via your own usual source (PayPal, Venmo, check, whatever your organization already has). Families complete the sign up and make their donation.
Katie can recommend ideal locations for the portraits to take place, somewhere easily accessible to your families AND photogenic for truly beautiful portraits. On the day of the event one or two volunteers are on hand to check families in. Each family gets about ten minutes of time, which is all Katie needs to create a beautiful set of images for the family to choose from.
Most schools schedule 2-3 blocks of time to accommodate a maximum number of families - and scheduling is flexible. Katie recommends a morning block and an afternoon block, which can be on the same day, or one on Saturday and one on Sunday. That gives families a few good options for day and time to fit their own busy schedules. Long weekends, or parent/teacher conference days are also good times for scheduling your fundraiser.
After their sessions, usually within 5-7 days, Katie will email families a link to their online proof gallery. They can view images and select prints and/or digital files to order (they can even order their holiday cards, no matter what time of year you host the fundraiser!) Orders go straight to Katie's professional lab partner (not a low-quality volume lab) and ship directly to families: nothing for the school to handle on the back end.
That's all there is to it!
Here's how to start:
Contact Katie by email at katie@katiejettwallsphotography.com to start the process. Your first step will be to select the date(s) for your fundraiser event. You want to give families about a month of lead time: enough time that they know what's on their calendar and can pick one of the times that works best for their family's schedule.
Katie typically books two school fundraisers in the fall, and three school fundraisers in the spring - so if this sounds like your ideal PTA fundraiser, be sure to nail down your dates ASAP.
