Photography & Art Classes

I'm collaborating with The Loft (formerly Little Loft) in Takoma Park to teach some awesome classes this fall and winter. (And yes we'll also offer our annual WInter Kid's Mini Portrait Sessions, dates still TBD!) Some classes will be photography focused and I’ll also be teaching an intro to collage class - a great way to get your own creative energy flowing!

The first up will be:

Off Your Phone and Into Your Life: Making a Terrific Album from Your Summer Photos | $89

Did you have an amazing summer? A great trip, a wonderful time with family - and now you'd like to turn all those phone photos into an album you can actually enjoy and hold in your hands?

Half "class" and half "support group", this session will help you through the daunting process of selecting the right photos for a memorable album, arranging them creatively and designing your album with minimal struggle. You should finish this class ready to hit "order my album" on the website we'll use!

We will cover:

➤ How to tell a good story with your photos

➤ Picking the photos that capture how your summer felt

➤ Some basic photo editing tools to make your pictures pop (without filters!)

➤ Arranging photos for maximum impact

➤ Captions and storytelling (writing) to flesh out your album

➤ Using online tools to design and order your album

You will need: Your collection of summer photos from your phone or camera; A laptop for sorting images and using the online album design tools; Any necessary cables to transfer photos from phone/camera onto your laptop.

Registration is open now and each class is limited to 10 participants.

I'll be working right along with you, because I have like a thousand photographs of my family's 8-week summer roadtrip through the desert and Rocky Mountains and I want an album that I can look back on every time I'm pining for the pleasures of the open road.
